Role: Lead Designer & Project Manager
Award Category: Residential Under £50k
Status: Finalist (Shortlisted)
We are proud to announce that the Beam & Clay project, led by Luella Pu, Co-Founder and Head of Design at Fang Ting Properties, has been officially shortlisted for the prestigious 2025 SBID International Design Awards.
Widely regarded as one of the most rigorous and esteemed accolades in the interior design industry, the SBID Awards celebrate exceptional projects from over 90 countries. This nomination places Beam & Clay among a select group of finalists recognized for outstanding creativity, innovation, and execution.
The Project
Faced with a complex challenge, the project transformed a disused London office-conversion into a warm, premium, and highly functional three-bedroom shared living space. The transformation was achieved with a strategic budget of under £50,000, demonstrating that visionary design and fiscal responsibility can coexist to create exceptional value.
The success of Beam & Clay is a testament to a core philosophy held by Luella and the team at Fang Ting Properties: that high-quality, thoughtfully designed homes should be accessible, particularly for young professionals in urban centres who refuse to compromise on their living experience.
Acknowledgements
This recognition is a shared achievement. Luella extends her sincere gratitude to the trusting clients who championed this vision, the dedicated team at Fang Ting Properties, and the skilled contractors and craftspeople whose expertise was indispensable in bringing the design to life.
The public voting phase for the awards has concluded. Thank you to all who supported the project and participated in the vote. To be shortlisted by a panel of leading international experts is a significant honour and a celebrated milestone for this project.
